I’ve been down under for five days now, but it alreadys feel like two weeks. My journey here took me from Hartford, CT to Boston to Nashville to Chicago to Los Angeles to Sydney to Perth and finally to Fremantle - a small city in the southwest corner of Oz. It took me well over 24 hours in the air to get here, but only about 5 minutes to find the beach once I arrived. I can smell the Indian Ocean from my bedroom window (I promise I’ll get some picture of it up soon) and so far I’ve managed to make it to the water every day. The first few days have been very busy with getting acclimated to the culture and area in general. There is definitely a different speed to life in Australia that I think anyone could quickly learn to love. I have started to check out the nightlife as well as some of the local tourists attractions and so far I haven’t been disappointed. There is plenty to report on but I think I’ll take it slow for now, like my new neighbors. I’ll be sure to fill in all the details over the next four months during my stay here.
